Winifred "Winnie" Hudson Hodgson ’40 established a scholarship to ensure that deserving students from her hometown Culpeper High School would have an opportunity to attend Mary Washington. After graduating in 1940, Winnie taught high school briefly in Virginia and worked for the federal government. Her husband, Alfred "Don" Hodgson, worked for NASA, and the couple had two sons. Mr. and Mrs. Hodgson were strong supporters of education, establishing several scholarships in higher education. Mrs. Hodgson passed away in 2009.
