Elsie Ball Bowley
Elsie Ball Bowley established a scholarship in 1962 in memory of her husband, Lt. General Albert J. Bowley, to promote learning, patriotism, and a sense of civic duty among Mary Washington students through an internship at James Monroe Museum. She also established a scholarship, Annie Fleming Smith Scholarship, to support students working at Kenmore. Mrs. Bowley died in 1972.
