	Helen Gawron Helen Gawron began her freshman year at Mary Washington College in 1942. She later transferred to the University of New Hampshire for her junior and senior years, graduating in 1946 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She always valued and thought fondly of her time at Mary Washington. After graduation, she went on to a fulfilling career in the communications industry with New England Telephone, currently part of Verizon Corporation. Ms. Gawron valued her experience at Mary Washington and wished to assist needy, deserving students in reaching their goals at the University. Ms. Gawron died in November 2018. The President of the UMW Alumni Association is the contact for the scholarship.
